The image: yin and yang in union; harmony and great fortune. The verdict: plans come true, marriage is happy, the family grows, wealth increases and harvests thrive.
In folk tales, when Wu Zetian ruled, Prince Li Dan, later Emperor Ruizong, was cast out and wandered among the people, where he met Hu Fengjiao and married her. The dragon stands for the emperor and the phoenix for his match: a union decided by heaven.
