Legend says Dou Yanshan did many good deeds and all five of his sons succeeded. To test one of them, Dou Yi, heaven sent the spirit of Venus as a beautiful girl to tempt him. He was unmoved; the girl turned into a ray of golden light and sank into the earth, and when Dou Yi dug there he found gold.
