Cautionary
A cautionary lot: danger often closes in quietly during good times, and conspicuous advantages attract envy. Shi Chong's wealth and beauty drew the net. The verdict's key is to notice early and prepare: sense what is wrong around you, keep a low profile and avoid conflict, and most trouble can be avoided.

Shi Chong of the Western Jin was fabulously rich, competing in luxury and buying the beautiful Green Pearl for ten measures of pearls. When Sun Xiu, a favourite of the Prince of Zhao, demanded her and was refused, he accused Shi Chong of treason. Shi Chong was arrested and killed, and Green Pearl leapt from a tower. His wealth had become the bait for the net.
