The image: a lotus born in fire; danger that is not truly danger. The verdict: though you meet peril, you are not harmed; in your plans you will meet helpers.
In a Yuan drama, Lü Dongbin wished to enlighten a willow below Yueyang Tower; as a tree it could not become immortal, so he had it reborn as Guo Ma'er. Thirty years later he guided him three times; through alarms and ordeals Guo finally awoke to the Way. The root endured and, in new form, life began again.
