The Tang prodigy Wang Bo, travelling to visit his father, moored below Mount Madang and dreamt that the river god would send him a fair wind. He set sail and covered seven hundred li overnight, arriving just in time for the Double Ninth banquet at Prince Teng's Pavilion in Hongdu, where he wrote his immortal Preface.
