The right love is like a well-fitting shoe; you forget it's there.
"Forgetting the feet means the shoes fit; forgetting the waist means the belt fits." The right love feels effortless and unconfining. If a relationship constantly chafes, ask whether it fits.
| Single | Look for someone with whom you can be yourself. |
|---|---|
| Dating | If the relationship feels tight, talk and adjust. |
| Married | An easy marriage lasts longest; give each other space. |
From Zhuangzi, "Mastering Life": "When the shoe fits, you forget the foot; when the belt fits, you forget the waist; when the mind fits, you forget right and wrong." Perfect fit is when you no longer notice it.
