The image: jade within, yet searching outside; wait for the right time. The verdict: gold and jade are already inside, unrecognised; when a helper points them out, no more worry.
Bao Shuya and Guan Zhong were close friends who served rival princes of Qi. When Prince Xiaobai became Duke Huan, he hated Guan Zhong, who had once shot an arrow at him, but Bao Shuya insisted Guan Zhong was far abler than himself. The duke made Guan Zhong chancellor, and Qi rose to dominance.
