From Mencius: Zeng Xi loved sheep dates, and his son Zengzi, missing him, could not bear to eat them. Asked which tasted better, minced meat or sheep dates, Mencius said meat; why then did Zengzi eat meat but not dates? "Minced meat is what everyone likes; sheep dates were his father's own."
