"Why not keep it as it was? Why rebuild?" Keeping things as they are is fine; no need to change or start over. The relationship you have is worth keeping; don't upend it on a whim.

From the Analects: when Lu planned to rebuild the treasury, Min Ziqian said, "Why not keep it as it was? Why rebuild?" Confucius praised him: he seldom speaks, but when he does, he hits the mark.
