Source: After the verse of the Boatman Monk (Tang)
Nothing caught, yet a boat full of moonlight; let go of gain and loss and your heart clears.
On a still, cold night the fish won't bite, yet the boat returns full of moonlight. What looks like nothing gained is a different kind of reward. Let go of needing a particular person; a clear heart is the real full boat.

After the verse of the Tang Chan master known as the Boatman: "Night still, water cold, the fish won't bite; an empty boat carries home the bright moon." Catching nothing yet returning with moonlight is an image of letting go.
